Hallie Lagers, whose only
cruise ship experience was playing Aquata on a Disney Caribbean cruise, manages to fib her way
into a job on the Carnival Ecstacy as cruise director. During her virgin voyage, she mistakenly books
two different themed groups at odds with each other.--
Since Somali pirates hijacked the last voyage, most of
the seasoned crew quit and except for the Captain, the new crew are barely
treading water on how to cope with the onslaught
of bad weather, demanding guests, zany entertainers and dire medical
emergencies.
The clueless crew are
pushed to their limits keeping some unruly passengers in check, and having inspectors on board doesn't help... When
most of the crew bail at the next Port of Call over poor working conditions, the
performers are forced to work double shifts as both performers and crew. When
the ship runs aground in Haiti, the crew decide to put on a show to boost
morale.
